Local Entrepreneur Turned $100 into $20 Million

Philip Akalp and Nellie Akalp, business partners and entrepreneurs in the online legal document filing space based in Westlake Village started their first business in 1997 in their small apartment living room with $100 and eight years later it was acquired by Intuit for $20 million. Instead of retiring early, they got back into the industry in 2009 with the launch of where they help entrepreneurs incorporate, form LLCs, file DBAs and more across the United States.
