Mobile Mini Announces National Contest for Most Innovative Storage Use Cases

Mobile Mini launched its ‘What Can You Do with a Mobile Mini?’ contest in February 2016 offering a $25,000 prize to a K-12 school demonstrating the most compelling and innovative example of using one or more portable containers outside their school facility in order to create and transform new and additional functional space inside the facility. Information on entering the contest and stories about how schools are using storage containers to address their space constraints can be found at or by contacting the company at866-344-4092.

“Our local branches throughout North America have helped many public, private and charter schools address their space constraint challenges for years,” says Erik Olsson, President & CEO of the Phoenix, Arizona-based company. “We have observed many educational institutions deploy our containers on their property to create or reclaim space inside their facilities.”

K-12 schools throughout North America are challenged by space constraints in light of increased enrollment, limited funds available for expansion, and cluttered learning and administrative environments. These storage challenges cause school administrators, district superintendents, teachers, and department heads to creatively, affordably and sustainably address storage.

Mobile Mini, the largest provider of portable storage containers in North America, has helped thousands of schools solve their storage problems for more than 30 years by providing them with safe, secure, controlled-access storage solutions. Having access to storage located on the school property addresses their short-term or long-term requirements.

“Our ‘What Can You Do with a Mobile Mini?’ contest is an advantageous way for schools that want to use our containers to address their space limitations while also having a unique opportunity to qualify for a $25,000 award or a free storage container rental for one year,” explains Olsson. “We’re pleased to offer this contest to schools and even more excited to see some of the cool transformation use cases they tell us about.”

Some examples of the new spaces schools are able to create inside their schools as a result of having portable storage space available to them include additional classrooms, nursing stations, weight rooms, expanded theater/performing arts areas, music practice rooms, extra-curricular and club meeting rooms, parent/teacher/admin conference and meeting rooms, special education areas, curriculum/resource material check-out rooms, and centralized storage areas for facility operations.
